Clonakilty is an extraordinary multiple award-winning town positioned on the coast within the heartland of West Cork. The town is located 45 minutes on the main N71 through West Cork from Cork City and 40 minutes from Cork International Airport. In recent years, the town has achieved numerous coveted awards including National Tidy Towns Overall winner, the European Entente Florale award and the international Nations in Bloom Gold Medal.

Clonakilty has a colourful and historical feel to it with its streetscapes renowned for its colourful and meticulously maintained shop fronts, pub fronts, general advertising and directional signs and street names. Extraordinary floral displays are also synonymous with the town. The surrounding area features some of Ireland’s most spectacular scenery and beaches, most notably the Blue Flag beaches of Inchydoney Island 2½ miles from the town.

The town enjoys a long-standing reputation as a culinary centre offering national and international cuisine at reasonable prices. Locally produced products, marketed under the Fuchia brand, include award-winning and well known Clonakilty black pudding and the range of Irish Yoghurt products.

Lisselan Golf Club
In 2004 Lisselan Golf Club was formed with the course open to green fees and members, seven days a week. The new par 72 layout (nine holes played from different tee boxes) consists of 4 par 5, 4 par 3 and 10 par 4 holes. The course is one of the most challenging and picturesque courses to be played anywhere in the country.

This craft shop is located in the coastal town of Clonakilty. Monday-Saturday: 9.30am-6.00pm

De Barras Bar & Folk Club
The home of Traditional Music in West Cork. De Barras is a bar set in the heart of Clonakilty, in West Cork. Music 7 nights a week (May-Sept) and 6 Nights a week for the rest of the year.

Clonakilty Equestrian Centre
Clonakilty Equestrian Centre in West Cork offers scenic road and beach treks. Intensive jumping courses are available and there is accommodation on site. Disabled riders are welcome.

Clonakilty Gymkhana And Horse And Pony Show
The show takes place in august every year.

Timoleague Castle Gardens
Set deep in the valley of the Argideen River at the head of Courtmacsherry Bay. A sweeping lawn, terraces, herbaceous borders, formal and informal gardens, and a working walled garden all surround a 1920s country house and much ruined Norman castle.
The plantings are in keeping with the period of the property and include some interesting New Zealand specimens. The mild and west West Cork climate encourages everything to grow in profusion.
The little church near the entrance gates should not be missed.

Perks is Irelands largest indoor family entertainment centre. It hosts a variety of top class activities for all ages in comfortable and spacious surroundings. Cork City Gaol & Radio Museum Experience,Cork City
Two of Corks attractions are housed in this building. Step back in time to see what 19th/early 20th century life was like in Cork - inside and outside prison walls. Amazingly lifelike figures, furnished cells, sound effects and fascinating exhibitions.

Leahys Fun Farm,Midleton
Leahy’s Fun Farm is a great fun day out for all the family, with a huge selection of animals to be seen as well as playgrounds, go karting, boat rides, leprechauns cave and more, there is so much to do. The Farm has a large restaurant/coffee shop and lots of picnic areas toe. See how people lived in by gone days by taking a wander through the museum sections. A 200 year old house gives a great insight into its history. There is a large newly opened adult maze and the children can feed and rub lots of animals, so come along for a nice relaxing day out.

Old Midleton Distillery
The visitor is invited to take a one hour tour of the Old Midleton Distillery, the home of Jameson Irish whiskey. The guided tour begins with an audio visual presentation (available in 7 languages) followed by a walk through the beautifully restored industrial complex, unique within Ireland and Britain.

See the fully operational Water Wheel, large Grain Stores, Mill Buildings and the largest Pot Still in the world. With the appetite suitably whetted it is now time to experience the famous tutored Irish Whiskey Tasting in the Jameson Bar.

Fota Wildlife Park, Carrigtwohill
Located just off the main road to Cobh, this Park was established in 1983 and has more than 70 species of exotic wildlife in open natural surroundings, with no obvious barriers.

West Cork Model Railway Village, Clonakilty Tour West Cork in 1 hour, in a miniature world depicting Clonakilty, Kinsale, Bandon and Dunmanway as they were in the 1940's. A model railway meandering through the 4 towns captures life in the past. Take a delightful and quaint step into the past.
